Designing with Altera® Stratix® FPGAs
Overview
The Stratix series of FPGAs from Altera offer a rich set of technology features including dedicated DSP blocks;
three sizes of embedded memory; sophisticated clock management and an interconnect technology for
simplifying block-based design.
Esperans Designing with Altera Stratix FPGAs course blends both technology and
methodology material to explain not just these new features of the Altera Stratix
technology, but also how to utilize the features in an HDL-based design flow using
the most popular third-party simulation and synthesis tools. This combination of technology
and methodology emphasis creates an essential “value-added” course,
far beyond that offered by other training providers, and providing
a short-cut to years of Altera design experience.
Duration
3 days. An extra day of specialised material is available for
customised and on-site courses. Contact Esperan for details.
Objectives
- To provide an in-depth understanding of the Stratix technology resources and
supporting features in the Quartus® II design software.
- To show you how to use Stratix features for DSP applications,
memory implementation, hierarchical design and clock distribution.
- To demonstrate the tricks and traps of an efficient Altera
design methodology, utilizing the full capabilities of the Stratix technologies
Prerequisites
Delegates should have a basic knowledge of digital hardware design and be familiar with their
choice of operating system. No prior knowledge of Altera tools or technology is assumed. Some
previous knowledge of VHDL or Verilog would be useful, but it is not essential.
